Terms and Conditions

Welcome to American Drivers Ed. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the American Drivers Ed website, courses, products, and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.

1. About American Drivers Ed

American Drivers Ed provides online driver education services, including Texas Parent-Taught Driver Education (PTDE) courses and related educational content.

Our courses are designed to assist students in meeting applicable state educational requirements but do not guarantee licensing, permit approval, or driving test success.

2. Eligibility

By using our services, you represent that:

  • You are at least 14 years old or are using the services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian

  • You are legally permitted to use our services

  • All information provided is accurate and complete

For Parent-Taught Driver Education (PTDE), a parent or legal guardian must meet Texas eligibility requirements to serve as the instructor.

3. Course Access and Accounts

To access certain services, users may be required to create an account.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials

  • Restricting access to your account

  • All activity occurring under your account

American Drivers Ed reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for unauthorized use, abuse, fraud, or violations of these Terms.

Course access is provided digitally and intended only for the registered student. Sharing accounts or course access is prohibited.

4. Payments and Billing

All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars.

By purchasing a course or service, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the payment method provided.

We reserve the right to:

  • Change pricing at any time

  • Correct pricing errors

  • Refuse or cancel transactions suspected of fraud or misuse

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. American Drivers Ed does not store complete payment card information.

5. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our services and immediate course access upon purchase, all sales are generally final.

Refund requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for:

  • Duplicate purchases

  • Technical issues preventing access

  • Accidental purchases with no course progress made

Once course access has been used or progress has been made, refunds may be denied.

6. Course Completion and Certificates

Students must complete all required lessons, quizzes, and state requirements before receiving certificates.

Certificates may require manual review and processing and are generally issued within 1 - 2 business days after successful completion.

American Drivers Ed is not responsible for delays caused by:

  • Incorrect student information

  • Failure to meet state requirements

  • Technical issues outside our control

  • Government or agency processing delays

7. State Requirements and Compliance

Students are responsible for understanding and complying with all Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) requirements.

For PTDE students, this includes obtaining the required PTDE Program Guide from TDLR before beginning instruction.

American Drivers Ed does not guarantee eligibility for permits or licenses if state requirements are not met.

8. Intellectual Property

All website content, course materials, graphics, videos, logos, text, and educational content are the property of American Drivers Ed or its licensors and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

Users may not:

  • Copy

  • Distribute

  • Reproduce

  • Sell

  • Share

  • Modify

  • Republish

any portion of the website or course materials without written permission.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Share account access

  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems

  • Use the website unlawfully

  • Submit false information

  • Interfere with website operation

  • Circumvent course requirements or progress tracking

Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access without refund.

10. Website Availability

We strive to keep our website and services available at all times; however, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

American Drivers Ed may:

  • Modify services

  • Perform maintenance

  • Update course content

  • Suspend services temporarily

without prior notice.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

American Drivers Ed disclaims all warranties, including:

  • Merchantability

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

  • Non-infringement

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We do not guarantee:

  • Permit approval

  • License issuance

  • Driving test success

  • Continuous website availability

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, American Drivers Ed shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect damages

  • Incidental damages

  • Consequential damages

  • Lost profits

  • Data loss

  • Delays

  • Government actions

  • Technical interruptions

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the applicable service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless American Drivers Ed, its owners, affiliates, employees, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the services

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Violation of applicable laws or regulations

American Drivers Ed is not responsible for:

  • Availability

  • Transactions conducted through third parties
